The World Series by Renault (WSbR) is a feeder series for F1; its primary aim is to prepare drivers for a career at the very top.
In 2008 the series uses brand new Dallara cars, based on the 2007 Renault Formula One car, running 3.5 litre 500bhp V6 engines. The cars have F1-style features, such as steering-wheel mounted gearshift, carbon brakes and a strong emphasis on aerodynamics.
World Series winners in recent years have traditionally made their way into F1.
