The Event
A typical World Series by Renault race weekend is as follows:
Friday
- 2 x 45-minute practice sessions
Saturday
- 2 x 20-minute qualifying sessions (field split into two groups) followed by a 15-minute Superpole session for the 12 fastest drivers.
- Race 1: 45-minute race
Starting grid explanation - The top eight from the Superpole session is reversed. For example, if you qualify 1st in Superpole you start the first race from 8th place. Positions 8 to 12 are filled by the remaining Superpole drivers and positions 13 onwards are filled by the remaining drivers in the order in which they finished in qualifying (one group per line).
Sunday
- Race 2: 45-minute race
Starting grid explanation - The top eight from the Superpole session occupy the first eight places on the grid, in the order they finished the Superpole session. So, if you got P1 in the Superpole session you start on pole position for race two. After the top eight the drivers line up in the order they finished race one.
